There are many different types of student clubs and associations involved in areas of art, physical fitness, health, services, music, religion, get togethers and student affairs. These groups hold various important events such as the graduation ceremony, competitions and so on. At the start of the new semester, a promotion activity presenting all of the clubs takes place on campus, allowing the incoming freshmen to choose a group to become a part of for their credit requirement.
The event titled, “The Student Club Enrollment Exhibition” was put on by the Extracurricular Activities Guidance Section, which displayed 135 different student clubs on Hai Bao Street. All of the groups had the opportunity to show off their unique purposes and characteristics. There were many great products, sounds and sights to attract the incoming freshmen to take a closer look. There was a blend of international concepts as western music filled the air next to the fencing club. First year student of the Department of Finance, Zi-Xuan Su, stated, “The song composition club really got my attention because the club was so big!” This semester there will be no shortage of new blood to take on the 19 newly established groups, bringing the total number of student clubs to 226.
Some of the newly established groups include Promoting Science to Children, International Economics, TKU Model Club, Elton Laboratory, Liberal Arts Club, Soccer, EMBA, Running, Adventure Club, Musical Games Club and much more. Students can option to join a club for reasons of creativity, academics or fitness, giving them a lot to consider before becoming a part of a team.
