Tamkang University is no exception as it welcomes the holiday cheer with Christmas decorations at the cultural lounge, outside the gymnasium, Humanities Building and on the slope between the the Business and Management Building. This year, the annual lighting ceremony celebrated the TKU Boy Scout Troop’s 40 year anniversary by organizing LED lights into the shape of a giant “40”.
Dean of Student Affairs, Chih-en Ko, expressed, “The lighting ceremony creates a magical atmosphere that allows everyone to joyfully say farewell to last year with great cheer and anticipation for the new year.” The lighting ceremony took place at 5:10pm on December 15th and lights filled up the campus like hundreds of tiny stars. Spectators were able to join in a number of celebratory activities as they watched students dance and perform with brilliant staffs of light. Even among the strong wind and light rain, the participants cheered on with warmth in their hearts.
