TKU's Student Groups are Honored Among Taiwan's Most Elite University Organizations

Extracurricular Activities Guidance Section

Last month Tamkang University participated in the Ministry of Education’s 2015 Junior College Student Association Achievement Contest and Exhibition and the 2015 Annual Junior College Student Club Evaluation Event. This event involved 280 elite student groups and TKU’s Student Association was honored with the Award of Excellence and the Public Administration Student Group was awarded the Special Award of Student Group Autonomy Comprehension. Director of the Office of Student Affairs, Chih-en Ko, stated, “Receiving these awards are not only a great source of encouragement, they are real treasures for the university.”

Member of the Extracurricular Activities Guidance Section, I-ting Li, expressed, “In August 2014, the Student Association officially reached its 20th year and in 2009 began its participation in the Student Association Achievement Contest. From 2010 to 2014 the Student Association has won the award for Student Group Autonomy Comprehension for 3 years in a row. For the past three years the Student Association has continued to hold events to benefit students including suggestions for additional student clubs, activities in the ice skating rink and basketball court and more. The university has been very supportive of the ideas presented by the Student Association which has played a major factor in our achievements. ”

Head of the Public Administration Student Group, Min-zhu Yang, stated, “The Department of Public Administration is the balance between the Department of Law and the Department of Politics. We are very passionate, but remain professional in all of our endeavors. The activities and events we hold vary depending on the environment, but touch on all aspects including traditions, services, innovation and much more. I believe it is our dedication to the community that is responsible for this year’s achievement.”
