High School Students Reach Crucial Phase of Admissions Process

The past few weeks mark the most important time for juniors in high school regarding their application to study at the university. The Office of Academic Affairs has been providing services for students interested in all departments including meeting parents, interviews, and other needs in order to improve activity in admissions. These services include the two-day interactive event titled, “Choosing TKU for your Career”, an activity that showcased and detailed each department so that applying students could get a better understanding of the university. This year there are a total of 7,322 applicants that have passed the initial phase the application process and have registered for the next step. It’s estimated that there will be 2,401 new students admitted.

Dean of Academic Affairs, Tung-wen Cheng, expressed, “This university’s department exhibit gives students a chance to come directly in contact with professors and courses of their major of choice. Students and parents alike are able to become more familiar with the courses, content and uniqueness of TKU’s higher learning curriculum. It also helps the students better understand themselves and what their academic interests are. This year the admissions process is rather different than last year, allowing students to ask questions related to courses or services. It’ my hope that they will be able to see the many advantages of being a student at TKU.”

One student who came in for an interview expressed, “The second part of the admissions process has allowed students and teachers to get a closer look at what the university has to offer. There are so many advantages here, especially the international accounting licensing certification and academic industrial internship programs.
