From July 16th to the 19th the Department of Mass Communication, Taiwan Mobile Foundation and Public Television on Tamsui Campus jointly held the “2015 Young People’s Mobile Short Movie Camp.” The event was aimed to give students ages 13-18 professional skills, knowledge and innovation techniques related to various forms of media while promoting new potential and talented personnel for the future. During the display of achievements, 5 short films were viewed: Die for Love, See you Again or Not, Love is Close, Never say Farewell and Youth Folds Like a Paper Plane. In the end, Never Say Farewell was honored with Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Editing and Best Film, taking stage as the big winner of the night.

Director of the Department of Mass Communication, Huei-chun Chi, expressed, “Mobile technology and film has become the coolest trend of this generation, but it’s still lacking a true education involving technical skills. Taiwan Mobile uses email and fundamental technology to meet with the different needs of enterprises. They especially want to develop digital capabilities, improve software programs and film education to make cell phones more than just cell phones. This camp has invited professional directors, editors and filmmakers to instruct and guide the potential of the young students so that Taiwan will have a more competitive future in terms of technology.”

On July 16th President Flora Chia-I Chang spoke at the ceremony held at Chung-ling Zhong Zheng Hall expressing, “Tamkang University’s goal has always been to continually produce excellent personnel for the working community. This is why we’ve worked so hard to create an environment that offers special learning opportunities and internships, which makes this particular event is so meaningful. TKU is a beautiful place with many stories to tell. I hope that in the future we can see the creativity of the students manifested into great films.”
