TKU President Travels to Beijing

On Oct. 2 President Flora Chia-I Chang and Vice President of International Affairs, Wan-chin Tai, travelled to sister school, Tianjin University, for their 120th anniversary celebration to express congratulations to President Jia-jun Li in person. Tianjin University was founded in 1895, becoming the first modern university in China. They officially signed an agreement with Tamkang University in Nov., 2011 and currently hold mutual academic exchanges every semester.

Afterwards on Oct. 3 President Flora Chia-I Chang and Vice President of International Affairs, Wan-chin Tai, then travelled to Beijing to participate in the Northern China Alumni Alliance’s Welcoming Banquet. In attendance was General Director of the Northern China Alumni Alliance, Wen-fu Zhuang, Director of the Northern China Alumni Alliance, Guo-dong Yang (International Business Management), Jun-tian Liao (Department of Architecture), Xiu-xing Sun (Department of French) and Rui-jie Xu, adding to over 30 university alumni. The event was a touching reunion that allowed President Chang to detail many of the exciting developments between TKU and China.
