The 2018-19 National College Bodybuilding Championship was held on Dec 15, 2018 at the Shao-Mo Memorial Gymnasium. Organized by the Chinese Taipei University Sports Federation, this was TKU's second time hosting the competition, which this year drew 124 entrants from universities around the island who converged on the Tamsui Campus hoping to snag the coveted title of 'college bodybuilding champion'.

The opening ceremony of the competition was hosted by the President of Tamkang University, Dr. Huan-Chao Keh. Also present at the competition were a number of senior TKU staff, including the Dean of Physical Education, Chen I-Cheng and the entire faculty of the Office of Physical Education, the Dean of General Affairs, Luo Shiaw-Shyan, the Dean of the College of Engineering, Dr. Hui-Huang Hsu, senior military instructor Chang Bai-cheng, and numerous other managers and high-level staff members. To follow, the rules of the competition were announced by the judges, and the competitors vowed to observe these rules. With the formalities out of the way, the contest officially commenced.

Competition entrants are split into separate divisions based on height and weight, with entrants in the same division taking to the stage together to display a variety of poses that show off their muscles, curves, overall look and demeanor. These are some of the factors the judges assess when selecting finalists. In the finals, apart from the usual display of brawn made in the preliminary stages, participants get one extra minute to individually pose and showcase their muscles, and this is one of the criteria upon which judges choose the ultimate champion.

This year, Hsiao Ming-yu of Shu-Te University was crowned male bodybuilding champion, while Hou Yu-ci of Chia Nan University of Pharmacy and Science took first place in the women's physique category.
