The TKU Chueh-Sheng Memorial Library has introduced Taiwan's first automatic cloud library resource sharing system for universities, which officially went online at 10:00 am Dec 19, 2020. In the future, faculty and students alike can more easily obtain library information, experiencing the ease and speed of service provided by this new system.

The Dean of the Chueh-Sheng Memorial Library, Song Sheue-fang, explained that the original system employed by the library was adopted in the year 2000, but that it was no longer fit to undergo large-scale updates and struggled to cope with the landscape of data management and provide adequate services to meet user demands. TKU therefore consulted the Excellent Long-Established University Consortium of Taiwan (ELECT), of which it is a member, eventually deciding to build and introduce a new cloud system jointly with Soochow University and Ming Chuan University. “I want to thank all the faculty and staff who worked around the clock to get the system online. We sincerely invite all faculty and students to make use of the system and generously provide us with suggestions and feedback so that we can continue to improve it” said Song.
