On February 27th the Office of Human Resources received an award in recognition of the newly adopted, “Work Study Program”educational policy. This policy was initiated in order to accompany the requests of the Ministry of Education, that emphasized the safeguard and protection of students’rights while increasing their interests in study. Not only did this policy raise the quality of academic research, faculty were also able to obtain both masters and doctoral degrees. This has lead to an increase of the faculty’s effectiveness while making TKU stick out among all of the junior colleges in the nation. Dean of the Department of Human Resources, Tung-wen Chung, received the award on behalf of TKU.

Tung-wen Cheng, stated, “This Study Salary Policy is unique as it encourages staff to increase their capabilities in study and research for a tangible financial gain. This offers faculty a convenient opportunity to develop their perspective through education, which will undoubtedly have a profound impact on the quality of TKU as a whole. This policy is offered to new employees, professors and administration members. There is short-term, mid-term and long-term training program with material related to the enhancement of needed employment skills.

The promotion of the Salary Study Program also includes accredited student group study. It’s estimated that about 4,705 people participated in this program in the year 2012.
