A Generous Donation from the Better Chemistry Better Life Co. Has Started the Chemistry Mobile

The Chairman of the Better Chemistry Better Life-International High Tech Industries Group, Ding-chuan Chen, deeply feels that the educational resources in Taiwan are lacking. He stated that the learning methods were not exciting enough and therefore creates a weakness in the very concept of learning. The resources used for learning must stimulate interest for true growth. So when he heard of Tamkang University’s Chemistry Mobile, that plans to take educational resources through all of Taiwan, he gave a very generous donation toward the project. Now a brand new truck has been purchased to become the Chemistry Mobile and on March 12th at the College of Science, President Flora Chia-I Chang and Ding-chuan Chen cut the ribbon to symbolize the beginning of this meaningful project.

The Chemistry Mobile Planning Executive Secretary, Hsien-chang Kao, stated, “Everything in our environment is related to chemistry so this vehicle gives everyone a chance to learn. Three years ago we were very excited about spreading this knowledge and information to the outskirts of Taiwan through this intriguing learning vehicle. However during the designing of this project we ran into many difficult budget issues. We are so grateful for Ding-chuan Chen’s donation and now we will really be able to reach those children with so much potential. They have the will to learn and they only need the knowledge to become leaders for the future. I’m sure this project will have a wonderful and dramatic impact on the educational system in Taiwan. The value of this donation far out ways the dollar amount.”

Ding-chuan Chen stated, “I’ve read that for the last ten years in America, graduating students with the highest salary major in chemistry. The next highest paying job is in computers and electronics. So even though we live in an age that has many technological needs, that industry is completely reliant on its relationship to chemistry. The winners of the Outstanding Alumni Award have established the Better Chemistry Better Life Co. for the very purpose of cultivating elite individuals in our society. It can be difficult finding ways to get the proper education into the hands of the youth all over Taiwan, but that is exactly what we need to do.”
