TKU Participates in 2014 National Junior College Student Organization Assessment Competition

Last month Tamkang University participated in the 2014 National Junior College Student Organization Assessment, commissioned by the Ministry of Education at National Chiayi University. 289 elite student organizations were selected from junior colleges all over the nation for their outstanding achievements. Tamkang University’s Hualian Alumni Association known as “East Power” was honored with the award of Excellent Autonomous Comprehensive Student Organization and TKKF was honored with the Outstanding Health and Physical Education Award.

One member of the Extracurricular Activities Guidance Section, I-Ting Li, stated, “The East Power Organization has been established for 75 years. It has a long history of heritage and has promoted its services in both Hualian and Taidong. In this particular assessment competition they have performed beautifully, giving all of the members a sense of honor and pride. Former vice president of the group, Ying-ru Wang, acted as the spokesman for East Power. Ying-ru Wang stated, “ I’m grateful to all of the people that gave us support and made this possible. I’m also thankful to all of my team members that continued to work hard and never gave up.”

Another member of the Extracurricular Activities Guidance Section, Yan-ming Li, stated, “The TKKF came completely into fruition after two years of development. Although they have been limited on resources, they have had an abundance of innovation and creativity. Group leader, Luo-zhang Chang, spoke on behalf of the group, “It’s so exciting to be able to participate in this assessment. It’s great to have an award, but we will continue to seek out a healthy lifestyle for years and years to come.”
