Rector of Jagiellonian University Visits TKU

Rector of the Jagiellonian University, Dr. Wojceich Nowakgk and Dean of the Graduate Institute of Middle Eastern Studies, Ks dr hab. Kryzszto Koscielniak, came to visit TKU under the guidance of the Ministry of Education’s Xin-yu Su on September 2nd. President Flora Chia-I Chang met with the honored guests personally as they had a friendly sit together.

Also in attendance was Vice President of International Affairs, Wan-chin Tai, Vice President of Academic Affairs, Huan-chao Keh, Dean of the College of Engineering, Chii-dong Ho, Dean of the College of Business and Management, Chien-liang Chiu, Dean of the College of International Studies, Kao-cheng Wang, Dean of the College of Education, Dian-fu Chang, Director of the Graduate Institute of Asian Studies, Yao-ting Jen, Director of the Institute of European Studies, Li-chuan Chen, Professor of the Department of Management Sciences, Hsu-shih Shih, and Professor of the Department of Economics, Chin-mo Cheng.

The Jagiellonian University is a research university founded in 1364 by Casimir III the Great in Kazimierz. It is the oldest university in Poland, the second oldest university in Central Europe and one of the oldest universities in the world. During the discussion President Chang expressed, “The spirit of excellence can be seen in Jagiellonian University through their amazing history alone. Our current professor of the Department of Political Economics, Anna Rudakowska is from Poland and Professor Chin-mo Cheng graduated from the University of Warsaw and since has attended many conferences in Poland. It’s such an honor to be able to have such an intimate exchange.” Dr. Wojciech Nowakgk expressed that he wishes to be able to create a formal agreement between the two universities that would officially initiate an active exchange program for both teachers and students.
