Department of Management Sciences held the New Generation Management Sciences Research Discussion

On May 15th the Department of Management Sciences held the New Generation Management Sciences Research Discussion--The Trend of Industrial Development Forum.” The discussion focused on 5 issues of data collection including Industrial Development, the Internet of Things, Big Data Analysis, Economic Knowledge and Medical Insurance, explaining how cultural innovation and smart technology could completely change the modern consumer’s way of life.

Vice President of Academic Affairs, Huan-chao Keh, began the forum with an opening address that pointed out the dramatic effect that Big Data and the Internet of Things has on modern industrial development. He used an illustration that explained how the method of marketing fishing, canning and production could be dramatically changed by incorporating the Internet of Things and Big Data statistics. He then elaborated on how this system would prove to be revolutionary in terms of industrial development by utilizing sensors to analyze data in order to better meet the needs of the consumer.

Director of the Alumni of the Department of Management Sciences and Head of Stark Technologies, Da-jing Li, stated, “In 1998 Andy Bechtolsheim of Sun computers donated 100,000 dollars to Stanford students, Larry Page and Sergey Brin, to support their proposition of Google that had yet to exist. The importance of supporting the dreams of the youth is immeasurable.” Da-jing Li explained that under the instruction of TKU’s information-oriented, internationally-oriented and future-oriented education system, combined with a firm relationship with the industrial world, students would have endless potential in terms of innovation and the creation of new products, especially because the world is changing at a very rapid rate. He stated, “The former industrial revolution revolved around oil, but this one will be determined by the connectedness of enterprises to the online world.”
