From Mar. 19-20 Tamkang University participated in the “MOE 2015-16 Student Association Achievement Display Competition and Observation Activity” and the “2015-16 Annual Junior College Student Club Evaluation and Observation Activity.” Student associations and departments of public administration from 92 academic institutions with 278 student clubs once again displayed their greatness. For the second year in a row, the TKU Student Association was honored with the Award of Excellence and the Department of Public Administration was awarded with the Autonomy, Comprehensive Student Groups and Artistic Academics Award

Even though two years ago in terms of the Student Associations elections, selection of candidates for council positions didn’t go as smoothly as hoped, the group has still maintained a very effective structure in terms of services, various events and regulations. The burden of becoming more organized has catapulted the group into a season of speedy development. Lead representative of the association, Zi-han Jian, expressed, “After deciding to participate in this contest, we spent an entire 3 months working hard to organize student information. I’m so grateful to the university for their support and guidance on this rewarding journey.”

Even though the Department of Public Administration was awarded with a special prize for their efforts last year, they were not satisfied with the result. This year they did a complete remodelling of the inner workings of their foundation, rewriting and modifying regulations to make the governing system even more complete. Event Organizer, Min-zhu Yang, expressed, “This is the second time the Department of Public Administration has represented the university in this national evaluation. It’s an honor to receive this award and I’m thankful to TKU for its guidance.”
