TKU has Exchange with Tohoku University

Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering

On June 21st Dean of the College of Engineering, Chii-dong Ho, and Dean of the College of Science, Bo-chang Wang, lead professors of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering on an academic visit to Tohoku University. The department’s professors included Ching-tang Hsieh, Ching-chong Wong, Ching-lieh Li, Yang-han Lee, Yu-jen Chi and Kelvin Kuang-chi Lee.

Chii-dong Ho expressed, “The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering’s research team has been working with Tohoku University for quite sometime, holding academic exchanges that observe and test the latest technology. On this trip in addition to being able to gain new information from our exchange forum, we were also able to attain new data about the future of our two countries through an involved discussion with professors of their engineering department: Dr. Hirotsugu Takizawa and Dr. Hirokazu Moriya.”

During the forum, Dr. Hirotsugu Takizawa went into detail as he introduced the history of Tohoku University, university department developments and aspirations of creating a more internationally-oriented education system. He also mentioned that in the recent 2015 QS World Competition, Tohoku University placed 41st in the world and 3rd in all of Japan. Chii-dong Ho and Bo-chang Wang then shared TKU’s educational concept of the Three Circles and Five Disciplines along with the developments and achievements of the College of Engineering. At the end of the exchange, Chii-dong Ho invited Tohoku University representatives to come visit TKU.
