TKU Holds Exhibition to Showcase Art of the Forest

How long has it been since you’ve taken a visit to the forest? Taiwan is filled with an abundant natural landscape with beautiful scenery of all kinds to enjoy. It’s worth taking some time to look deep within the thick green treasures that decorate our city life. In celebration of Taiwan’s lovely environment, the Carrie Chang Fine Arts Center will be holding an exhibition themed, “Taiwan’s Mountainous Artistic Forestry,” until January 25th. The exhibition is featuring 95 pieces of art from 69 local artists; each piece consists of a unique point of view that skillfully articulates the voice of nature.

Director of the Carrie Chang Fine Arts Center, Ben-hang Chang, expressed, “The forest is abundant with beauty and artistic inspiration that holds the footprints of our history. With an attentive eye and skillful hands, there is an infinite amount of life that can be shared with the public. Everyone who has grown up in Taiwan, remembers moments within many of these mountains and it’s important to appreciate how different these places are from our daily lives. The days are different, the air is different, the clouds are different, the rain is different and the feeling it gives you is very different. That’s why this exhibition is especially important and serves as a reminder of how much life is out there.”

“The 95 pieces really make you feel the different seasons of the mountains and the vivid colors really bring you into the pictures.” Said Mr. Huang, one of the exhibition’s spectator. Fourth-year student of the Department of Accounting, Ya-ting Xie, expressed, “I really love going to the mountains to take pictures. I often sit among the beautiful silence, enjoying the natural pleasures the environment has to offer. This exhibition is very enjoyable and a reminder of good times.”
