This summer the Center for Teacher Education has qualified at least 25 alumni to become junior high and high school teachers. Two teachers that received certification from the program, Pei-rong Cai and Yi-qun Chen, returned to the center on August 21st to share their teaching experiences. Even though TKU has discontinued their elementary teacher education curriculum since 2008, the Center for Teacher Education continues to prepare future teachers and even assists them in finding employment.

At least 12 alumni have found teaching jobs this summer in areas including New Taipei City, Taoyuan, Xinzhu, and Tai Dong County. A meeting for alumni responsible for elementary education took place on August 23rd where they mentioned the importance of never giving up when pursuing their dreams. They all had to spend a lot of time doing off and on substitute teaching jobs, but the end result was well worth the time and energy spent. Dean of the College of education, Dian-fu Chang and Dean of Academic Affairs Chih-en Ko encouraged the alumni to continue to be persistent in order to achieve their goals.

The Ministry of Education gave awards for education related internships for 2014 and two students from the Center for Teacher Education, Jia-qun Gao and Hui-xuan Liao won the Highly Commended Award. Also teacher from Tamsui Elementary school, Yun-ping Lu won the award for Internship Teaching Assistant Excellence. These inspirational stories all shared their beginnings in the Center for Teacher Education. The other alumni were able to gather great comfort and motivation from sharing experiences of diligence, patience and hardwork.
