The 2018-19 TKU Total Quality Management Workshop was held March 22, 2019, at the Hsu Shou-Chlien International Conference Hall, Tamsui Campus. The topic of this year's workshop centered on the need to continually lift the quality of management at TKU as it heads into the fifth phase of development. The keynote speaker of the Workshop was the recipient of the 25th National Quality Award from the corporate category: the General Manager of E.Sun Commercial Bank, Joseph Huang.
The Workshop was hosted by the President of Tamkang University, Dr. Huan-Chao Keh, and was divided into two main parts. The first part involved a briefing of the gains made by Tamkang University under the policy of total quality management (TQM), including the accomplishments reached by the TKU Lanyang Campus in winning a Silver Award in the Taiwan Continuous Improvement Awards, as well as an announcement of the recipient units of the 11th and 12th Tamkang Quality Awards. The second part of the event featured a keynote speech by guest speaker, Mr. Huang, a multiple recipient of the National Quality Award, who shared his experience implementing outstanding management practices.
TKU President Keh explained that: "In recent years, TKU has increased the prize money issued to units or divisions that win the TKU Quality Award and Quality Management Circle Competition to encourage more units to take part. The winners of the 11th and 12th TKU Quality Awards were the Office of Student Affairs and the TKU College of Business and Management respectively.
